Adriana Chychula is a lifelong artist based out of Chicago. She uses oils and acrylics to capture contrast and textures that bring viewers into her paintings. Her work plays with surrealism and explores themes of transition and transmutation, both in subject matter and concept.
Her first mural was in her living room, where she painted a boarded up doorway it feels like you can step into. That mural also inspired her 2025 show, PORTALS, where she asked artists to submit concepts for door-sized works that take viewers “anywhere but here.” This ended with a room of unique “portals” into 12 artists’ psyches, whose creative development served as portals to artistic transformation itself.
